Bathroom wall art

Bathroom art has one enemy — moisture — and one great opportunity: small walls where a single well-chosen piece, coastal or botanical or calmly abstract, turns the plainest room in the house into somewhere considered.

Favour moisture-tolerant formats and hang pieces away from the direct shower line. Bathrooms reward humour and calm in equal measure, and small sizes are an advantage here — the room is compact, so a modest piece at eye level over the towel rail does real work.
